The Process

1. Look through a wide variety of resource materials which describe zoos and zoo animals. While doing this, be thinking about animals you might choose for the zoo.

2. Choose your animal.

3. Complete the research form. Ask an expert about information you absolutely cannot find. Email - info@www.indyzoo.com

4. Print or make 2 copies of a photo of your animal. (Remember that the task page sites also have lots of photos.)

8. Join with other members of your team. Categorize your selections by area of the world and by habitat. Place a picture of your animal on a wall sized world map, marking it's natural habitat.

9. Categorize animals by groups; bird, reptile, mammal, amphibian, fish, or insect. Try various other groupings; animals with fur, feather, scales; how they move, what they eat, etc. Graph the categories.

How else could you show how they are alike and different? Largest to smallest...

10. Present an oral report highlighting your research data. Use photos and sounds. What interesting facts can you share?
