Ceremonies

After the electoral votes are in and the results are posted, the president-elect must wait until the inauguration before taking office. Celebrate everyone's hard work with an inauguartion party.

  • Write poems or speeches.
  • Have a guest come in dressed as the winner, or candidates, and speak to the voters thanking them for their efforts.
  • Hold a parade.
  • Make special red, white, and blue treats. (red and blue gelatin with white whipped cream or rice kripsy treats colored red, white, and blue, etc.) Or have American foods like hotdogs or apple pie.
  • Read and share your favorite Arthur or Magic School Bus books.
  • Watch the video, Arthur meets the President.
  • Send an email to our real president telling him about your election.

    Kindly send all classroom and group letters in one envelope. A cover letter providing the teacher's name, the grade of the students and the complete mailing address of the school would be appreciated and would help to expedite a response.
