In chapter tweleve, N. Scott Momaday talks about storms and fires.In the story there is an old man and wife and child that lives in a LittLe house.The wife was in the kitchen pounding meat,While the women was pounding meat the boy kept on coming back to get meat. Finally the last time that the boy came in he brought enemies in with him. The enemy said "That they wouLd kill them unless the women kept on feeding them". When the women went to get them meat she threw fire on them.

The winter of 1872-73 the fire heradic tipi were the Kiowas were staying was accidentally destroyed by fire, also with battLe pictures. The pictures were of fire pictures,fighting men and arms on one side and wide horizontal bands of black and yellow on the other;the Kiowas didn't know what to do,if they should go after them or what.Kiowas got into their tribe circle at the ceremonial occassions.

One day late there were shadows that were long;a deep bLush on the sky and the dark red earth to glow with the setting sun.Someone was walking among the headstones at Rainy Mountain Cemetery. The Kiowas were in a deep silence; everything has come to a stop. The Kiowas stood and watched the sun take the leave of the land; there is a Piercing call for the bobwhite. The whole worLd is startled by it.

I thought that this book was very good even chapter tweleve. Chapter tweleve had stories about storms,I have a story about when my light in the bathroom caught on fire. I believe that the Kiowas could have done something to the enemies after they destroyed their home and threaten to kill them. I feeL sorry for how the Kiowas had been treated and how they really didn't get to stick up for themseleves. Here is one of my stories about storms and fires.

One day we had a big storm.My step-dad is a police officer, so the police station called us and told us that we should turn off everything and my step-dad was downstairs turning off the lights while I was upstairs turning off the lights. While I was going downstairs,I seen lighting hit the telephone poLes.I heard noise in the bathroom so I went upstairs opened up the door and my light had caught on fire.I went downstairs to tell my dad and he told me to call the police.

So I called the police and the fire department came and seached the house they told us that we might not want to stay in the hosue because the walls felt a liitle harm.That the hosue was very old.So my family stayed with my grandma for the night. I was so scared that day.
