The Way to Rainy Mountain

Guipahgo was the uncle of Mammedaty they wanted to get horses out of a pasture. Mammedaty loast his temper, there was fence that ran all around the pasture and only one gate. Mammedaty ran up to the house and he got his bow and arrows he shot at one of the horses that was causing all the trouble, but he missed, the arrow went deep into the neck of the sencond horse.
The Kiowas were holding a Pawnee boy captive in the winter of 1852-53. He seceded in running away. He took a hunting horse named "Little Red." To the Kiowas the loss was a hard thing to bear with.
Mammedaty kept a box of bone in the barn they were the bones of a great horse named "Little Red." Little Red was the fastest running horse in the whole corner of the world. White men and Indians came from everywhere to match their best animals against Little Red but it never lost a race. One day someone stole the bones. He has aften thought about that red horse. There were times when he thought he understood how it was that a man might be moved to preserve the bones of a great horse and another to steal them away.
Getting over losing something/someone that was very dear to you can be very hard. When my grandma died I took it very hard. She died when i was only 10 years old. Before she died I never understood anything about death, because I never knew anyone that had died before my grandma. The day she passed away, I was at school,she had been really sick and was in the hospital. the doctors knew she didn't have much more time to live and they knew she had wanted to die at home on the farm. She looked so awful, she was all white and she had lost a lot of weight. After my grandma died my family started to fight a lot. A year and a few days later my grandpa died.
I have lost a few more close family members sincethen as well. All you can remember your family and friends that have passed away is by pictures and memories.
